When: Tuesday 14th June 2016
The Miners & Mechanics Institute had a buzz about it all day as Picturing the Mines took a closer look at the extraordinary minerals associated with the mines. Calum Beeson of the School of Mines brought a wonderful selection of samples to inspire and shared his enthusiasm & knowledge with unstinting enthusiasm throughout the day. Printmaking is such a great medium and the day was full of energy and warmth; the many energetic contributors ranged in age from 2yrs to 87yrs and geographically from local year 6 St. Agnes ACE Academy children to as far away as Australia! All this energy and enthusiasm crystallised into two exciting collaged images that our interns Keira and Rhea at PZ Conservation will map fold to create a very special crystal like structure.
